NEET UG Examination Tips 2026

NEET UG is 180 questions in 180 minutes — roughly one minute per question. This sounds tight, but factual Biology questions take 30–45 seconds while lengthy Physics numericals need 2–3 minutes. Your mock practice on Setlgao should train this instinct.

Arrive early, stay calm, and start with the subject you find easiest. Most toppers begin with Biology to bank marks quickly, then move to Chemistry, and finish with Physics.

Biology (90 questions) is your scoring section — aim for 350+ out of 360 marks here. Botany and Zoology questions are mostly direct NCERT lines. Read the question stem carefully; NTA often twists familiar NCERT phrasing.

Chemistry (45 questions) splits between Physical, Organic, and Inorganic. Physical chemistry numericals take longest — attempt them after quicker Inorganic and Organic questions unless you are strong in Physical.

Physics (45 questions) has the toughest questions. Attempt confident formula-based questions first. Skip lengthy derivations on the first pass and return if time permits.

NEET awards +4 for correct and −1 for wrong answers. Never guess randomly — one wrong guess costs the equivalent of one correct answer plus a quarter more. Only attempt when you can eliminate at least two options.

Use Setlgao mock analytics to find your sweet spot. Most successful candidates attempt 160–175 questions with 85%+ accuracy rather than all 180 with lower accuracy.

NEET repeats concepts from previous years — NCERT diagrams, common reaction mechanisms, and standard Physics formulas. Solving NEET PYQs from 2016–2025 on Setlgao reveals which topics NTA tests repeatedly.

In the last month, take one full-length PYQ mock every 3 days on Setlgao. Analyse every wrong answer against NCERT — if the concept is not in NCERT, it is unlikely to appear in NEET.
